Baba Babee Skazala [Grandmother Told Grandmother] is an Official Selection & Nominee for Best Documentary of the Festival of Cinema NYC 2019!

Festival of Cinema NYC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established to support the development, and help expand the audiences, of independent cinema from around the globe. Understanding the struggle in today’s film environment to showcase independent cinema, our aim is to establish a presence and awareness of cinematic creativity throughout NYC, Queens and the neighboring communities.

Festival of Cinema NYC is a competitive film festival with programming that consists of over 100 remarkable independent films, of all lengths, genres and subjects from around the world, over a ten day period.

Now endorsed by the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, Festival of Cinema NYC was founded by filmmakers who were looking to break the stereotypes often associated with Independent Cinema. In just two years, over 4000 visitors from around the world have attended the festival which has presented films at the Kew Gardens Cinemas, the Queens Museum and the Regal UA Midway. Filmmakers who have attended with their films have come from as far as Australia and Japan, along with local filmmakers and others from across the USA.

Films featured in this year’s line-up will be screened from August 2 - 11, 2019 in Queens, NY.
